The Sunflower Recovery Project is a collaboration between Trevi House, a rehabilitation programme for women with drug and alcohol dependency issues together with their children, and Longreach House, which provides an all-female environment for women who struggle with substance misuse. The Urban Ecomuseo Mare Memoria Viva start from a research work on the memory of the relationship between the city of Palermo and the sea. The work move in the coastal areas of the city to create a sea map of the significant places in the area through meetings and interviews the inhabitants, collecting stories, photographs, videos and organizing activities directly involving people lives there in the enhancement of heritage. "Ecomuseo" means "community museum" and represents an aggregation space that proposes cultural, educational and active citizenship activities, researching innovative methodologies and calling people to get involved in thematic workshops, working on the expression of self, on feeling part of a community and on the civic sense.  17 Sep 2018, 12:49 Catherine West

In over a century of history, the Gallery of Modern Art has gone through a long path that has led to the increase of the collections, but above all to its affirmation as one of the most modern and vital cultural institutions of the city of Palermo. The "GAM Bene Comune" project aims to create a network of culture, social, entrepreneurship in a process of exchange, contamination and development of integrated actions and encouraging the participation of the public with disabilities, to overcome any possible barrier and discrimination. In 2015 educational activities were dedicated to the blind and visually impaired, deaf people, adults and children with mental and/or social problems. "Meravigliosa Mente" is a voluntary association composed of family members suffering from psychological discomfort. The association was founded in January 2010 at the initiative of a group of mothers whose children are affected by psychological discomfort. It is aimed at all people injured in the mind and their families. SMMGP is a membership organisation. Members include doctors, keyworkers, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, non-medical prescribers, peer mentors, and expert patients. SMMGP support the highest standards of practice in the treatment of problematic use of alcohol and drugs. SMMGP offer continuing professional development and an enhanced scheme for SMMGP Premium Members. SMMGP govern the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners (FDAP) membership and accreditation function.
